Coach Mike Smith of the PCM golf team was right when he said another 316 would be good enough for the win at the Class 2A State Golf Tournament on Saturday. The Mustangs shot a day one 316 and followed that up with a 331 to finish runners-up to Waterloo Columbus who finished at 632 to win by 15 strokes. PCM did gain a measure of revenge on conference rival, South Hamilton, who finished third and 25 strokes out of first. Hunter Van Veen scored a 78 on day two and was third overall individually; Justin Beener carded an 81, Ryan Jennings an 86, and Devon Woody an 88 to round out the day for the Mustangs. Saturday also marked the end of the high school career of two outstanding golfers in Hunter Van Veen and Michael Neff.
