New Sharon came under a boil advisory Monday. Local Hy-Vees contributed 4,800 gallons of water Monday and Tuesday to residents of New Sharon affected by the boil advisory. Mahaska County Emergency Management Coordinator Jamey Robison tells KNIA/KRLS News that he is grateful for the contributions and he is hopeful for the future. The boil advisory is still in effect in New Sharon until further notice. Pella Hy-Vee Manager Scott Johnson says it’s important to Hy-Vee to help out communities in need.
