County officials are looking for more information regarding damage from recent heavy rainfalls. Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says these damage reports from nonprofits or governmental agencies could help the county become eligible for disaster assistance. He explains the type of damage they’re looking for includes flooding damage to roads, properties, or buildings; lightning damage to buildings or equipment; or water damage to buildings. Currently, there is no request for information regarding damage to private property–only nonprofits and government agencies. If you are in doubt, Anderson asks you contact him. He adds he has until the end of the business day today to send in the official report. For more information, you can contact Anderson at 828-2256 or at 891-2560.
