Of all of the zeroes that the Pella girls’ soccer team has forced on their opponents’ side of the scoreboard, the one they put up yesterday may have been the most prominent at this point of the season. Pella shut out fifth ranked Nevada, 2 – 0 for their tenth consecutive victory. Allie DeMeulenaere got the scoring started for the Lady Dutch with a penalty kick that found the back of the net early in the first half. Sophomore Katie Canfield scored the second goal for Pella in the first half on a crossover from Gabi Meirick. Pella now sits with a 13 – 1 record and will play Oskaloosa at home for senior night tonight at the Pella Soccer Complex, then end the regular season with a very tough Class 2A Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday.
