In what may arguably be the most surprising result to come out of our 2013 spring sports, the Pella boys’ golf team finished fourth at the Norwalk sectional, failing to advance to sub-state. Grinnell did in the Little Dutch once again, winning the meet with a team score of 317. The host Warriors came in second with 318; Pella’s team score was 330, and Knoxville was fifth at 340. The bright spot on the day was the play of Corey Elliott, who was the meet medalist with his round of 73. All of the other members of the Little Dutch scored in the 80s. Elliott’s performance does give him a chance to qualify for state individually, but for the rest of their team, they will compete as a whole for the last time this season this Monday in the Pella Christian invite.
