Splitting their opening week games with West Des Moines Valley and Lynnville-Sully, the Pella High softball team will board the bus on their way to Eddyville-Blakesburg for a non-conference match-up. The Lady Dutch fell to a very good Valley squad 11 – 0 to open their season up, but used the experience from that game to beat the Hawks 6 – 3 on Thursday. Coach Krista DeMeulenaere says that regardless of the opponent, her team has only one game plan. The Rockets have four games under their belt and enter today’s contest at 2 – 2, and are led offensively by Jarrah Jensen, who already has a home run this season. You can catch today’s game, weather permitting, on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser calling the play-by-play. Pregame coverage is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. with first pitch at 7:30.
