KNIA/KRLS’s Severe Weather Action Team went live for the second straight day last night after the National Weather Service Issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for far northwestern Marion County. The warning started at around 8:45pm, lasting until 9:10. Portions of Jasper County were also part of the warning, including Prairie City. We received about 0.12 inches in Knoxville through the system. That puts us at 3.07 inches of rain this month, a tad below the average of 3.23 inches for this time in May.
