Central was held to just one hit through six innings and fell to Simpson in round one of the Iowa Conference tournament on Thursday, 10 – 6. The Storm scored the first eight runs of the ballgame over the first six innings before the Dutch could get anything going offensively. Central scored four runs in the seventh to show some life, but two more in the eighth from Simpson was all she wrote for the Dutch. It is a double-elimination tournament, and Central will play Buena Vista today, and the winner will move to the 4:00 p.m. game later this afternoon. Central and Buena Vista square off at 10:00 a.m.
