State Track Meet Gets Started Today with Lots of Local Athletes

The Knoxville boys’ track team will be in the running in 13 events at the Iowa State Track meet that begins today in Des Moines. That includes two entries in the 200 meter dash. Pleasantville has qualified in six events at the boys’ meet, and Melcher-Dallas qualified in three events. Twin Cedars have an individual qualifier on the boys’ side, and a relay team that has qualified on the girls’ side.

Pella High School boys have 18 entries participating in 15 different events on the blue oval at Drake University this weekend. The girls’ team has 11 entries in 10 different events. PCM has three entries in two different events on the boys’ side, and nine entries in nine separate events on the girls’ side. At Pella Christian, they have four girls’ entries and two boys’ entries.
