In a follow up to the report of an incident at PCM middle school yesterday, one juvenile has been charged in the event. The Prairie City police report that on April 30, 2013 Prairie City Police charged a 13 year old Monroe female with False Reports of an Incendiary or Explosive Device concerning the incident earlier that day at the PCM Middle School. The 13 year old admitted to police that she was responsible for writing the note. She was referred to Juvenile Court Services.
On May 1, 2013 at 9:51 a.m. Prairie City police were notified of bomb threat at the Prairie City Elementary School. PCM staff followed their safety plan and students were moved to a safe location. Law enforcement officers from the Prairie City Police Department, Monroe Police Department and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation. Officers searched the school and found no dangerous device. Students were then returned to class. A 10 year old male student admitted to police that he wrote the note and placed it in a bathroom. He will be charged and referred to Juvenile Court Services.
