Despite the rain that lasted for most of the day, the Pella Christian baseball team was still able to open up their conference schedule last night and split a pair of games with Newton. The Eagles started by being shut out in the first game 8 – 0. Their pitching and defense would tighten up in the nightcap, as they salvaged a split, winning 2 – 1. The Eagles are now 5 – 3 on the year, and have a day off before facing Oskaloosa on the road for one game on Friday.
