The Knoxville Softball Squad got down two/nothing early on in its game with Newton last night, but battled back to plate all five runs in the fourth to beat the Cardinals 5-2. Knoxville got solid contributions at the plate up and down the order including Shaye Nichols going 2/4. Taylor Carter went 1/3 with two R-B-I, and Kassi Griggs also batted in a run. In the circle, Emily Wallace went the distance surrendering two runs on six hits, one walk and three strikeouts. Coach Steph Christner said the girls are really coming around at the plate and was very pleased with how they came back after getting down early. Knoxville improves to 2-4 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
