Three runs in the fourth…fifth and seventh innings propelled Winterset to a 9-0 win over Knoxville in softball last night. The Panthers were limited to just one hit…that was a Rikki Hall single in the first inning and three total base runners. Winterset had 15 hits, and Huskie pitching struck out 12 Panther batters. Knoxville Coach Steph Christner says the girls need to relax when on the diamond, and hopefully the errors will disappear and the hit will start to appear. Emily Wallace took the loss going the distance walking three and striking out none. Knoxville falls to 4-9 on the season, the Panthers will host Grinnell in a varsity double header tonight. You can hear score updates during the Knoxville and Grinnell baseball game on AM 1320 KNIA.
