The Knoxville Softball Squad won its first game of the season in a 2-1 victory over Lynnville-Sully at the Oskaloosa Invitational this weekend. The Panthers got good plate production from eighth grader Shaye Nichols as she bashed her first career home run. Cheyenne Jones got the other R-B-I. Emily Wallace earned the win going the distance scattering seven hits on one run and two strikeouts. In game two, the Panthers fell to Eddyville-Blakesburg 6-1. Wallace was tagged for six runs on 12 hits. Marissa Lenger went 1/3 with a double, Taylor Carter also went 1/3. Knoxville is now 1-4 on the season and will host Oskaloosa on Wednesday.
