Two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning allowed Pella to walk away a winner over Des Moines North last night, 8 – 7. Pella collected 13 hits on the night, and the biggest one came off the bat of Matt Nieuwsma who singled home the game-winning run for the Little Dutch. The top six hitters in the line-up all contributed two hits, and the bullpen had another stellar relief outing, according to head coach, Jesse Jablonski. Ryan Shull pitched five innings, giving up two hits, an unearned run, and striking out eight to get the win. Pella’s baseball team is now 5 – 11, and they will play a tough Southeast Polk team for a game tonight.
