The Marion County Master Gardeners recently donated nearly $500 to Habitat for Humanity. Karen Ackley of the Marion County Extension Office tells KNIA/KRLS News that the money was raised during a plant sale at the Pella Farmer’s Market in May. More than twenty Master Gardeners contributed by donating hundreds of plants dug from their own gardens to raise the funds. The donation was presented to Alyssa Vande Voort of Habitat for Humanity by Marlys Anderson and Mary Dee Dykstra of the Master Gardeners.
