The nomination period is underway for the Marion County Farm Service Agency county committee. This year, the townships of East and West Knoxville, Clay, Indiana, and Liberty will select one representative to sit on the committee for a three-year term. To be eligible a person must live within those counties and participate or cooperate in a program administered by the FSA. County Director Angie Vos says that the committee plays a vital role in the administration of the federal farm programs and the positive effects they have on rural communities. For more information on nominations, call the FSA office at 842-3168. Voting will run through most of November; the newly elected committee member begins their term on January 1st.
