Several Mustangs had a multi-hit night against Colfax-Mingo on Wednesday, as the softball team rebounded to win 11 – 6. Shelby Palm and Makenna Van Veen had three hits, Abbi Gilson had four, and Molly Vignovich added a pair or base knocks for PCM. Kayla Jennings struck out seven batters and was the winning pitcher of the contest. PCM now sits at 5 – 4 and will have a tough task ahead of them to close their road trip out, as they will make a visit to Norwalk to play the Warriors this evening. The PCM baseball team couldn’t hold onto another seventh-inning lead, as they fell 4 – 3 in eight innings. The Mustangs were up 3 – 2 going into the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t close the deal. Five different Mustangs collected a hit on the night, and Ethan Kain took the loss on the mound, giving up two runs in two innings of work. PCM’s baseball team is back to .500 at 3 – 3, and will be at South Tama for a game tonight.
