Pella High’s softball team dropped two games in Ames to a pair of Class 5A squads. They started the day with a 14 – 0 loss to Ankeny. Coach Krista DeMeulenaere had her JV team play, and she said they played a really good game despite the score. The team only committed one error on defense and freshman Alexa Dingeman pitched a good game. They finished up with a loss to Ames, 9 – 2. Pella is now 9 – 13 on the season, and they will host Grinnell for a conference game tonight.
