Last night, the Pella Police and Fire Departments as well as Marion County Emergency Management were called to the Casey’s General Store at the corner of West 16th and Washington. An unidentified motorist ran into a gas pump, breaking the connector off, and leaving the damaged area spraying gasoline onto the ground, and into the nearby grass before fleeing the scene. The spill continues to be under investigation, and the police are looking for a gray, 4-door, mid size sedan with minor damage to the rear bumper.
