In what was a rough sports day for Pella was made a little brighter with the play of the Pella softball team, as they blanked Grinnell 12 – 0 to begin their conference schedule. Bri Arkema got the win on the mound, allowing just two hits and walking one. Arkema helped her cause with a home run, while Sara Tallman and McKenna Rozenberg each tallied two hits. Allie DeMeulenaere had a hit and Alli Dingeman scorched a double to highlight the night at the plate for the Lady Dutch, who are now 3 – 6 on the season and 1 – 0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Pella returns to action at home on Monday in a rivalry game against Pella Christian.
