The “tens” digit on the home side of the scoreboard at Twin Cedars’ baseball field is getting quite the workout this year, and did again on Saturday, when the Sabers defeated both Colfax-Mingo and Pleasantville. They started out with a 19 – 1 victory over the Tiger-Hawks in just four innings. Coy Moore picked up the win on the mound, and to back him up offensively, Eric Clark went 3-for-3 at the dish with just a home run away from the cycle and he drove in five runs. Also, Moore, Otis Roby, Drew Carlson, and Corey Harrell all had a multiple-hit game with a double and the four combined to tally seven RBI’s. In a highly anticipated game with the Trojans, the Sabers again got the best of their opponent, winning 11 – 1 in six innings. Roby was the pitcher of note, earning the win allowing just three hits, three walks, while striking out four. Moore was 2-for-2 with three RBI’s, and for the Trojans, they struggled to get any offense going after beating Eddyville-Blakesburg to get them to the championship game, 10 – 3. The wins balloon Twin Cedars’ record to 21 – 1, and Pleasantville is currently 12 – 8. Twin Cedars plays Van Buren next on the road this evening, and Pleasantville will come home for a game Tuesday against Central Decatur.
