To say the offense was dialed in for Twin Cedars on Friday may be putting it lightly, as the Sabers demolished Seymour in both baseball and softball action. The Sabers’ boys won in four innings, 24 – 1, with offensive production up and down their line-up. Six different players had an RBI to back up eighth grader, Trace Embray, who was pitching in his first varsity game. Embray threw all four innings, allowing one run on three hits with seven strikeouts. Sabers’ softball scored all 13 of their runs in the first two innings combined, highlighted by a nine-spot in the second inning to blank Seymour 13 – 0. Brittney Roby, Ayla Crosby, Bailey Stone, Payton Fee, and Shelby Hall each accumulated two hits and Roby got the job done on the mound, scattering four hits over three scoreless innings. Twin Cedars’ baseball sits at 12 – 1, softball improves to 7 – 5, and they each return to action next week. The girls are scheduled to play Diagonal on Tuesday, while the boys play defending Class 1A state champion Martensdale-St. Mary’s at home on Monday.
