The Twin Cedars’ softball team stayed hot on Wednesday, shutting out Pleasantville 12 – 0. The Sabers shelled out 14 hits during the game, led by Ayla Crosby who went 4-for-4, Brittney Roby was 3-for-4, and Shyann Denburger also added a pair of hits. Brittney Roby earned another win on the mound, going the distance and giving up only two hits, walking four, but striking out ten. Twin Cedars improves to 7 – 4 on the year, and they’ll wrap up their lengthy road trip tonight in Thornburg against Tri-County. The same could not be said for the Twin Cedars’ baseball team, unfortunately, as they dropped their first contest of the year to an explosive Albia team, 6 – 5. Coach Matt Miller tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team struggled at the plate for the second straight night, failing to get that one key hit. The Sabers’ boys sit with a 10 – 1 record and will join the ladies on their road trip to Tri-County for a game later this evening.
