PCM had a rough night at home against Saydel, as both the softball and baseball teams fell in their contests. Coach Mallory Grove’s girls fell 6 – 4. Abbi Gilson had a two-run double to help keep the team alive in the game. On the baseball diamond, it was a close game until late, when Saydel broke things open with a five-run sixth inning to win 10 – 1 over PCM. The Mustangs left nine runners on base in total for the game, as the big hit eluded them. Ron Marshall had a two-hit night while Ethan Kain was sacked with the loss despite striking out eight batters in six innings of work on the mound. PCM baseball and softball are each 6 – 7. Softball will play in a tournament in Oskaloosa on Saturday, while the boys play at Nevada tomorrow night.
