School’s out for summer, but many teachers continue to work in improving their skills to better instruct the kids. In Knoxville last week, Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says teachers from Northstar took a four-day targeted math instruction class. He adds around 20 faculty members and administrators will be attending a conference in Des Moines this summer. There, Dr. Flack says they’ll learn more about professional learning communities and how they can collaborate to improve students learning. He says that though students aren’t in school, there’s still a lot of learning and preparation occurring.
