Pleasantvile’s baseball and softball teams played in two very good games on Wednesday night. The softball team lost in a close contest to Chariton, 4 – 3. Trojans’ baseball picked up a huge win over number two ranked Van Meter, 9 – 5. Josh Luna was 2-for-4 with a two-run shot in the first inning, Matt Prill and Zeb Adreon each had a 2-for-3 night. Jesse Nichols got the win on the mound by scattering six hits against a dangerous and extremely potent Bulldogs offense, which boasts the top home-run hitting player in the state. Pleasantville’s softball team drops to 3 – 13 – 1 and the baseball team improves to 7 – 5. Each team has a long road trip ahead of them Friday night against Corning.
