What started out as a normal race night at the Knoxville Raceway, quickly turned into a bizarre and rather scary end. Larry Ball Jr. won the 305 A-Main for his second victory of the season. That is when things started to go from normal to unusual. A nasty crash in turn three between Laney Feight and Matt Moro brought out the red flag as both cars flew into the catch fence. Both drivers were O-K and the race resumed with taking his first win of the season and eighth career. That was after he had an early race run-in with Randy Martin. Agan said later that the contact was incidental. The 410 A-Main took the longest to complete because of a near 30 minute red flag when Austin Johnson cartwheeled down the front stretch, throwing his front axle completely out of the track and into fence just under the grandstands. Johnson was shaken up, but was able with help to walk back to his pit. Brian Brown went on to win his 22nd carrer 410 A-Main at the Knoxville Raceway, putting him alone in tenth on the all-time winners list.
