With rain cancelling plans for the Pella High baseball and softball teams on Monday, they will each hit their home field for games later today. The Little Dutch will try again to play Grinnell for a varsity doubleheader within the conference. Pella enters with a 3 – 5 mark within the league and a great chance to get back to .500 against a Tigers team who has struggled this year after winning the conference just a year ago. The Little Dutch are riding a three-game winning streak, including two victories by one-run, which is the first time a game by that margin has went Pella’s way. Coach Jesse Jablonski says it all has to do with the fact that baseball is a funny sport that way. On the softball field, the Lady Dutch will also be playing Grinnell tonight, and their game with North Mahaska has been pushed back to Thursday. The first game of the varsity doubleheader for the Pella girls is scheduled to get going at 6:00 p.m.
