On Sunday, the Pella Police Department, with assistance from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol and the Grundy County Missouri Sheriff’s Office concluded a week long burglary investigation with the arrest of Donald Mark Major of Lovilia. The investigation began on July 16th when a residential burglary involving tools and ammunition was reported to the Pella Police. Information provided by the victim led to a search and seizure warrant being executed at Major’s Lovilia residence, where a portion of the tools were recovered. Major’s was then arrested by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department in Missouri before being transported back to the Marion County Law Enforcement Center where he is currently being held on $15,000 bond. Major’s has been charged with Burglary in the third degree; a class D felony and Theft in the first degree; a class C felony. All persons are innocent until proven guilty, and criminal charges simply mirror the findings of a criminal investigation.
