The unofficial launch of the balloon festival took place last night with simultaneous hot air balloon flights over Knoxville and Pella. The KNIA/KRLS news team was on board a balloon that took off near the Knoxville Airport, and sailed over the downtown area, while another balloon took flight from Caldwell Park and floated over Thursdays in Pella.
