Dealing with a primarily younger team this season, Coach Nate Johnson and his Pella Christian baseball club took a lot of big steps each game of the 2013 campaign. One big thing that Johnson saw was his team’s increased baseball IQ and awareness as the season went on. Johnson says the kids were able to think for themselves more by the end of the year. The Eagles’ coach went on to say that his pitching staff was getting ahead in counts more often and not giving up as many two-strike hits as they did towards the beginning of the season.
