This fall, the Central men’s basketball team will be welcoming back a familiar face on the sidelines of their 2013-14 campaign. Joe Steinkamp, a former Dutch athlete, will be the top varsity assistant for this upcoming season. Steinkamp was an assistant for seven years before leaving after the 2011-12 season to pursue a business venture in South Dakota. The former Dutch star will be replacing Drew Stubbs, who resigned after one season. With Steinkamp on the sidelines, Central recorded a 73 – 55 mark in his five seasons in the top varsity assistant position, including a 23 – 5 record back in 2009-10.
