Knoxville Rural Fire Chief Kenny Thompson was honored by his peers this week. The Knoxville Rural Township Fire Department gave Thompson an award to signify his 25 years of service to fire service. More plans are in the works to further honor personnel at the Rural Fire Department. There will soon be plaques indicating members who have served five and ten years. Thompson thanked his fellow department members Tuesday, saying he was honored to receive such an award.
