Coach Krista DeMeulenaere and her Pella High Lady Dutch softball team had an interesting 2013 season. For the latter half of the season, the team relied heavily on freshman pitcher, Elyse Sadler, they didn’t have their entire roster until the girls’ soccer season was over in early June, and it seemed like as the schedule was winding down, the team kept getting stronger. Unfortunately, it all came to an end at the hands of Winterset a few weekends ago. Coach DeMeulenaere’s squad will depart with five seniors looking ahead to the 2014 season, and she said that after the loss to the Huskies, she had a few, strong, emotional words for those graduating athletes. Morgan Bigbee, Morgan Ernst, Molly Lanke, Allie DeMeulenaere and Diana Zabradova are the five seniors who graduated from Pella High earlier this year.
