Pella’s softball team had a lot of challenges they had to conquer this season. Several of their early season games got rained out, they didn’t have their whole team until about a few weeks into the year due to the end of the girls’ soccer season that went to state, and one big factor, according to Coach Krista DeMeulenaere, was two games in one day. Her Lady Dutch had not had to play doubleheaders within the Little Hawkeye Conference until this year. DeMeulenaere says that her girls showed a lot of perseverance in how they handled themselves within the twinbillings. The Pella head coach added that she’s got her returners doing a workout regimen in the offseason to get them prepared for 2014.
