In a game that saw Pella Christian’s baseball team lead for most of the way, the Eagles just couldn’t put away Davis County in the ninth, losing 13 – 12 in an offensive-dominated affair. Pella Christian held leads of 7 – 1, 11 – 5, and even 12 – 9 going into the bottom of the ninth, but just couldn’t put the Mustangs away. Coltin Collins was 2-for-4 at the plate, Clay Stravers had a pair of hits and two stolen bases for the Eagles, who finish their regular season with a record of 14 – 17. Pella Christian now focuses their attention on their first round Class 2A district postseason game with Colfax-Mingo on Saturday afternoon in Albia.
