Starting this season with no clear-cut number one pitcher, the Pella Christian softball team and Coach Nate Van Wyk decided it was best for his team to pitch by committee for the 2013 campaign. The three-headed pitching monster for the Eagles was made up of senior Shannon Fynaardt, Taylor Hartson and Nicole Kelderman. The way the year started for Pella Christian, it seemed like it would work; a 3 – 0 – 1 record and allowing an average of three runs per game through the first four contests gave the team a good point to build on. Though the rest of the season was rocky, Van Wyk said that they came a long way since the beginning of the year. Pella Christian finished the season with a 13 – 18 – 1 mark.
