Having just knocked off the three-time defending Class 1A state baseball champions, Twin Cedars is quickly looking like the team to beat. After everything this team has gone through this season, you would think that momentum is on their side. Well, you would be right, but don’t tell Coach Matt Miller that. Miller says that they know how fragile the momentum can be and how easily they can lose it if they don’t continue to take the right steps. He added that if his team gets overconfident, don’t work on the fundamentals, and ignore the mistakes they made in the game with Martensdale – St. Mary’s, that their next opponent, Newman Catholic, will take advantage of every single one of their mess-ups. The Knights beat Woodbury Central, 11 – 6 in their first round game on Friday night, and the two teams will play against one another this Thursday at noon in the semifinals.
