Pleasantville baseball scored four runs early on against PCM, but a game-tying three-run homer from Chase Keuning fueled a Mustang comeback on Saturday to highlight a 5 – 4, 12 – 1 doubleheader sweep by PCM. The Mustangs won the first game in the eighth inning on a throwing error by the Trojans. In game two, PCM scored four runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to end the afternoon early. Ethan Kain hit a three-run jack to end the game in the fifth, and other offensive highlights in the nightcap include a 4-for-4 effort from Clay Cooper, Kain and Nate VandeWall each coming up with three hits, and Alex DeWitte contribute two hits and two RBI’s. Chase Keuning got the win on the mound, allowing an unearned run and one hit in five innings to improve to 3 – 0 on the season. PCM baseball improves to 17 – 10, and Pleasantville is now 15 – 11. The Trojans play Iowa Christian Academy next on Monday, and the Mustangs will take on Grinnell, also happening tomorrow.
