Twin Cedars’ Shelby Hall came up with perhaps the biggest hit of her high school softball career last night in the sixth inning in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A regional tournament against Moravia. Hall came up in the bottom of the sixth with two outs, and laced a two-run single to the outfield to give her team the lead, 3 – 2, and the Sabers held on to win 4 – 3. Brittney Roby pitched the complete game, giving up three runs, one earned, and striking out 12. Twin Cedars is now 24 – 8 on the year, and their season is extended to at least Friday when they play Earlham in the regional semifinals, which serves as a semi-rematch between the two schools who met in the regional finals this past basketball season.
