Knoxville Hospital and Clinics provides $1.9 million in community benefits to the Knoxville area. That’s according to a recent study. CEO Kevin Kincaid says it’s important that community hospitals tackle the challenges of providing fundamental healthcare needs for everyone.

The $1.9 million figure includes $1.6 million in uncompensated care, including charity care, bad debt, and unpaid medicaid costs. Other community benefits include health screenings, support groups, counseling, immunizations, nutritional services and transportation programs.
