The Knoxville Baseball Squad will end the regular season on the road at Fairfield tonight in a varsity double header. The Panthers with at least a split can guarantee a winning season as they stand at 15-and-13 on the season. Knoxville is also on a five game winning streak after dropping five of six last week. Coach Joel Johnson says he has been pleased with the guys who come off the bench in a pitch hit situation where they have delivered. Early in the season, it was Brock Caviness who delivered on key situations, and Wednesday night it was freshman Calyn Bumgardner who drew a walk to keep the seventh inning going and help in the win over Oskaloosa. Johnson adds the team may be shorthanded tonight due to the coaching staff wanting to rest some players in preparation for the postseason starting next Friday.
