Mustangs Pummel Cubs, Advance in Tournament

The PCM softball team breezed by Nevada in their Class 3A first round regional tournament game, winning in six innings, 11 – 1. Makenna Van Veen was 3-for-3 with a home run, Abbi Gilson also added three hits, and Kelsey Townsend was 2-for-4 at the dish. PCM softball improves to 20 – 14, and their season continues to this Friday, when they head to Alleman to play North Polk, who beat Roland-Story last night, 11 – 5 in their first round game. PCM and North Polk split their season series.
