Finishing the 2012-13 season with a 12 – 6 dual meet record, the Central wrestling team had a very successful year. They were competitive in the Iowa Conference, and equally important to Coach Eric Van Kley, they were recognized and competed on the national stage. Central wrestling was consistently in the polls all year long, topping out at 14th in late December, which was their highest ranking since the 1991-92 season when they were fifth. Van Kley says he’s excited about the youth that’s returning to the team this winter and is anxious to get the season underway.
