Round one of the Class 3A regional softball tournament gets underway tonight, and PCM will be in action against Heart of Iowa Conference foe, Nevada. The Mustangs’ bracket basically plays itself out like a conference tournament, with the Cubs, Roland-Story, North Polk and Gilbert all lumped into the same regional. As far as the Cubs – Mustangs match-up, PCM swept the season series by a combined score of 21 – 2. Coach Mallory Grove says her girls just need to play their game and stifle the Cubs’ improved offense this time around. Tonight’s opening rounder gets going at 7:00 p.m.
