The Pella baseball team came within three outs of a sweep of league-leading Norwalk last night, but settled for a split, 4 – 2 and 6 – 5. In game one, Ryan Shull went 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Isaac Naaktgeboren, Jason Morgan and Jacob Gleason all had RBI’s for the Little Dutch, and Naaktgeboren pitched six innings and got the win by scattering five hits. Shull pitched the seventh and got the save. In the second contest, Daniel Langenfeld went 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Tanner Wood was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Grant Judkins had a solid six innings and took the hard luck loss as he put a few guys on in the seventh up 5 – 3, and the Warriors scored three to walk-off a winner to salvage a split. Pella’s baseball team is now 10 – 15 on the season, and they will host Washington for a game later tonight.
