The Pella City Council met last night. Two of the more discussed issues were the Pella Sports Park, and an outdoor service request by the Octagon Lounge. The resolution regarding the sports park was unanimously approved allowing the council to set a public hearing date of August 6th, and authorizing the taking of bids. The petition requested by the Octagon Lounge was approved 3-1, allowing the bushes near the building to be removed and the grassy area to be turned into a fenced in drinking area surrounded by a 36” tall fence.
