Two one-run games went different ways on Monday with Pella and Oskaloosa. The Lady Dutch won 1 – 0 thanks to a three-hit shutout from pitcher Elyse Sadler. The game was scoreless until the seventh, when Pella got hits from Diana Zabrodova, Sierra Williams and then the game-winning base knock from Andrea Fuller, all coming with two outs. Allie DeMeulenaere and Sara Tallman added base hits for Pella in the contest. On the baseball diamond, the Indians edged Pella in a shootout, 10 – 9. Down 8 – 1 at one point, Pella rallied to within one in the fourth before Oskaloosa piled on two more in the sixth for the final difference. Pella had the tying run on third in the seventh with two outs but popped out to end the game. Grant Judkins went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, and Ryan Shull and Daniel Langenfeld each were 1-for-4 with two RBI’s. The loss drops the Little Dutch to 12 – 17, while the win helps the Lady Dutch end their regular season with a 14 – 17 mark. Pella’s boys play Centerville tonight, and the girls will host Knoxville for the first round of the Class 4A regional tournament on Thursday.
