Pella Police Department’s Traffic Initiative Week One Recap

Official statistics for week one of the Pella Police Department’s traffic safety initiative are in. Chief Robert Bokinsky reports that the heightening of their focus on seat belt violations resulted in ten seat belt citations, 12 seat belt warnings, and 76 overall traffic contacts. This week, the department will turn its focus to speed enforcement with an emphasis on Vermeer Road, East 8th near the Aquatic Center, Idaho Drive, West Washington, and South Clark Street. Statistics from week two will be provided next week.
